Less than a week after the girls state wrestling tournament, another state competition will be taking place featuring an Adel-DeSoto Minburn student.

ADM sophomore Alabama Astley punched her ticket back to state during the Iowa Class 2A Region State Qualifying Meet on February 3 at Perfect Games Alley in Ames. 

The Tigers placed fifth overall as a team out of eight schools, placing ahead of Bondurant-Farrar, Norwalk and Des Moines Hoover. Astley earned her spot at state after bowling 507 pins through three games.

She will compete during the Class 2A Individual State Tournament tomorrow at Cadillac XBC in Waterloo, starting at 9 a.m.
