A big opportunity for individuals living in the West Central Valley School District has opened up once again for this year.
Stuart Library Foundation Board member Russ Wagner says that the application window for the Foundation’s Travel Scholarship is open, with the first round of applications to be turned in by February 17th. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the scholarship is used as a way to help individuals 18-25 years old travel the world, and where some past recipients have gone.
“The very first one, which was about five or six years ago, was Machu Picchu. And it was a brother and sister, and I think it was like a 12 day trip. But (recipients of the scholarship), they’ve been to all over Europe. Germany, Italy, Greece, etc., for anywhere from six to twelve days and literally all expenses paid.”
Wagner mentions that those applicants who make it through the first phase will be notified that they moved to the second phase by February 25th. He adds that those who go through the second phase will need to turn in applications for that round by March 10th.
