The Mustangs had their way with the Eagles on Tuesday night, winning their tenth game in a row by a score of 71-13.
It was Ava Smid and the DCG defense racing out of the gate. The Mustangs forced 12 turnovers in the first quarter, and Smid was the beneficiary with eight points. She finished with 16 to lead all scorers.
In the second quarter, it was more of the same. Macy Meyer and Tessa Jones joined the party with threes, and Leah Brauch scored eight of her ten points in the frame. DCG continued to make life difficult for the Eagles on their side of the floor, leading 34-3 at the break.
In the second half, DCG resumed their domination and paved the road for the reserves to check into the game to get meaningful minutes. Junior Kate Wilson had six points, along with freshman Tenley Heidgerken. Junior Denali Amos had five while her classmate, junior Hayden Smith, had three.
With the win, DCG goes to 18-2(10-1). They round out their regular season in Pella on Friday night.
