Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is preparing for their last Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) training.

Youth Coordinator Rachel Muir says that they’ve already had one training, and are scheduled to hold just one more before the Iowa State Fair and Guthrie County Fair come around. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio more about YQCA.

“It stands for Youth Quality Care of Animals. So just learning the ethics, being knowledgeable about record keeping and knowing what to do in different situations on how to take care of your animals correctly.”

Muir mentions that this scheduled training will take place in March, so there is plenty of time to register for it and study as well. She adds that for those who are unable to take the scheduled in person class, they can also take it online as well.
