Jefferson Matters is gearing up for its first After Hours Insider event of 2026 that happens next week.
Peg Raney, with the Economic Vitality Team, says the Sierra Community Theatre in downtown Jefferson will be the host next Tuesday from 5:30-7pm. Jefferson Matters Director Matt Wetrich encourages people to sign up for the limited number of spaces that are left for this exciting way to find out more about how the community-owned movie theater operates.
“But you’re going to get to see all of the behind-the-scenes. A, you’re going to learn some of the history of the space there, but you’re going to get to see kind of behind-the-scenes of how the projector works and how they play movies and what it takes to bring a movie to Jefferson. From what I gather, a little more complicated than you might think.”
Raney points out that at 5:30pm will be a brief welcome to attendees, followed by a tour of the theater that is led by staff and board members, and there will be networking time available as well. Wetrich adds that a special snack will be highlighted during the networking time.
“The popcorn is going to be there, but they’re going to give you some fun popcorn options and a whole like sort of popcorn buffet, if you will. So gourmet popcorn options. So, another good excuse to come out and be a part of that.”
The cost is $10 to attend and reservations must be made ahead of time by clicking here or contacting Jefferson Matters at the Welcome Center at Thomas Jefferson Gardens at 515-386-2155.
