Photo belongs to the ADM Girls Bowling Team

Adel-DeSoto-Minburn sophomore Alabama Astley participated in the 2026 Class 2A Individual State Bowling Tournament in Waterloo on Wednesday, marking a top-30 spot.

Astley competed alongside 32 other girls from 14 schools across Iowa, where Astley shot scores of 168, 170, and 194 for a final tally of 532 total pins, which placed her 26th overall. Astley finished ahead of Decorah’s Hayley Baker, Le Mars’ Maddy Jarrad, Davenport North’s Julia Bebout, Le Mars’ Aaliyah Warner, Mount Pleasant’s Shyann Smith, and Fort Dodge’s Ara Ellis. Astley has now participated in the state bowling tournament in both her freshman and sophomore year.
