
The Iowa High School Athletic Association has released boys’ basketball pairings for the postseason and Greene County and Paton-Churdan both open tournament play away from their home courts.
Coach Chris Nelson’s Rams begin Class 2A District play at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 16 in Woodward vs. Woodward-Granger. The Rams are 3-18 and will take an eight game losing streak into the postseason while the Hawks are 13-8 with victories in three of their last four games. Monday’s contest will be broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
Coach Josh Cerveny’s Rockets are 7-14 and they’ll open Class 1A District basketball in Manning vs. IKM-Manning. The Wolves are 12-8 and they close their regular season tonight at 13-8 Audubon. The Wolves have won three of their last four games. The Rockets are led in scoring by junior Trevon Keely at nearly 20 points per game and senior Phoenix Hartman is also in double figures at more than 12 points per contest.
