As the Perry Jayettes enter their final game of the regular season tonight, head coach David Morris reflected on the growth he has seen from freshman Willow Norton.
Norton started for the Jayettes on Tuesday with Kalley Whelchel out due to being sick, and had the first four points for Perry against the Thunder. Coach Morris, highlighted Norton’s growth and how her confidence opens up the floor for the Jayettes.
“I can go to her a lot earlier. You can see Willow is developing into understanding how to compete more rather than how to go play the game. She’s understanding basketball just a little bit more and it’s starting to show, being able to make those little adjustments from ‘where should I be,’ to ‘I’m where I’m supposed to be now what’s the next level?”
Coach Morris and the Jayettes wrap up the regular season tonight against Webster City, and await their Class 4A post season assignment.
