
Paton-Churdan meets Glidden-Ralston in Glidden at 7 tonight to begin Class 1A Region 1 girls’ basketball. Coach Tom Kennedy’s Rockets are 4-17 while the Wildcats are 2-0 this season vs. P-C and are 12-9 overall. The Rockets have wins in two of their last three games with victories over Storm Lake St. Mary’s and Ar-We-Va (Westside), but do not have a win this season against a team with a winning record.
The Rockets are led in scoring by junior Alivya Smith at nine points per contest. and she’s also the team leader in rebounds per game at 5.6. Freshman Edynn Smith at 6.7 points and junior Kaliyah Minnihan at 6.6 points per game are the next two highest point scorers for the Rockets. The Rockets average just under 30 points per game as a team. G-R scored 50.5 points per contest and is led by two freshman who average between 11 and 12 points per game in Chloe Peters and Jenna Subbert.
