Families in Dallas County can attend a program together starting this weekend. 

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach of Dallas County will host Strengthening Families from 2:30-5:30 p.m. on Sunday at the DMACC Perry Career Academy, 1011 2nd Street, Perry. Marketing Manager Sarah Wood says the program will run for seven sessions, from Sunday through April 12, though no classes will be held on March 15 or April 5. 

She details that the program will help parents and youth ages 10-14 practice skills, play learning games and do projects to increase family bonding, build positive communication skills and solve problems together. 

Wood adds that a family meal will be provided and childcare will be available onsite for younger siblings.
