It’s an exciting time for the future of Bluejays boys soccer as Perry Community Schools has officially announced the new varsity head coach to begin in the 2026 season, Abraham Cardenas.

Cardenas, a Perry graduate who played for coach Gary Overal, who recently retired after leading the Bluejays soccer program since its inception, praised coach Overal for his time, dedication, commitment and love for the program. Coach Cardenas, looks to continue to advance the soccer program at Perry, and looks to connect all aspects of Perry soccer together including the youth programs, middle school, and high school under one umbrella.

With the first game of the season scheduled for Monday, March 30th against ADM, coach Cardenas is just weeks away from beginning his first year with the Bluejays soccer program.
