The regular season has ended for all Greene County High School Winter sports and the postseason is here. Girls’ bowling has completed their season and between Saturday and Monday Greene County teams and individuals will have participated in wrestling, bowling, and basketball postseasons.

Tomorrow, Coach Zack Beekman’s wrestlers go northwest to Sergeant Bluff-Luton High School for a Class 2A District Tournament starting at 10 a.m. The top two individuals in each weight class advance to the State Tournament in Des Moines in Class 2A on Feb. 19-20-21. Coach Tori Ogden’s Rams play Saturday night at 7 vs. Des Moines Christian on the Lions’ home court in Urbandale. Greene County is 5-17 and the Lions have just three losses and are ranked third in Class 3A by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.

The boys’ bowling team goes to Carroll Monday morning for a Class 1A State Qualifying Meet. The top four individuals and the first place team advance to State competition in Waterloo. Monday night at 7, Coach Chris Nelson’s boys’ basketball team plays Woodward-Granger in Woodward in a 2A first round District contest. The Rams are 3-18 and the Hawks are 13-8.
