Everyone is invited to a special Valentine’s Day-themed open house tomorrow at the Greene County Museum.
According to the Greene County Historical Society, from 9am-noon, people are invited to stop into the museum and check out a very large collection of vintage Valentine’s Day greeting cards that were donated by former Jefferson resident Mikki Schwarzkopf, who now lives in Ames. Organizers say Schwarzkopf carried on her mother’s tradition, starting as a child, and it got to the point where her friends would give her Valentine’s Day cards they found in antique shops.
According to the Historical Society, the free event will also include Valentine’s-themed trivia starting at 10am. Refreshments will be served by Deal’s Orchard and no pre-registration is necessary.
