
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Basketball Teams participated in their final regular season doubleheader on the road in Carlisle on Friday for a Raccoon River Conference matchup, as the Tiger girls fell 55-28, but the boys were victorious 80-50.
Starting in the girls game, the Wildcats jumped on the Tigers to take an early 12-3 lead after the first quarter. In the second, Carlisle continued to show the offensive prowess, outscoring ADM 18-7 to go up 30-10 at halftime. The Tigers were able to find a little more rhythm in the second half, scoring 18 points, but the Wildcats offense was just too much, as they walked away 55-28 winners.
Carlisle senior Macy Comito was the leading scorer at 21 points, followed by sophomore Kami Clark, who contributed with 12. ADM was charged by freshman Macie Leinen’s 12, and sophomore Ella Subbert added 9 points.
The Wildcats conclude the regular season at 21-0 (16-0 RRC), while the Tigers finish 14-7 (12-4 RRC).
Up next for the ADM girls is the Class 4A Regional Second Round game, which will be played in Adel at ADM High School either against Winterset or Glenwood on Saturday, February 21st.
On the boys side, the first quarter saw ADM get off to an 8-0 start, then Carlisle responded with 15 unanswered points, before the Tigers ended the quarter on another 8-0 run to lead 16-15. ADM would put some separation in the second quarter, soaring to a 34-24 halftime advantage.
The third quarter belonged to the Tigers, as they captured 32 points alone on their way to a 66-37 lead heading into the fourth, where they would roll to a 80-50 victory.
Four players were in double figures for ADM, including senior Hudson Lorensen tallying 26 points, then it was senior Hudson Shull with 15, and 14 points each for seniors Trey Bryte and Hayden Dohlman. Carlisle was led by junior Trey Osterhaus, who had 22 on the night.
The Wildcats are now 7-13 on the season (4-12 RRC), as the Tigers climb to 18-2 overall (14-2 RRC).
ADM will now prepare for a non-conference game in Adel on Tuesday, hosting the Norwalk Warriors at 7:15pm.
