
On Friday, the Perry Bluejays basketball team faced off against the South Tama Trojans and fell to the Trojans on the road 75-57. Four Bluejays scored in the double digits, but South Tama would gain the advantage on the board, out rebounding Perry 38-26 to help keep the Trojans ahead.
It was a back and forth contest in the first three quarters, with Perry remaining behind within single digits going into the fourth quarter. Gavin Leslie had a strong first half, scoring nine points and ending the game with 11 to help keep Perry in the fight with a halftime score of 32-24. In the fourth, the Trojans gained their stride, making multiple threes to gain the advantage. The Bluejays never backed down, with Gustavo Drahos leading the way with 18 points. Luke Adair and Leslie followed with 14 for Adair and 11 for Leslie, with Nadir Ouahbi scoring 10 off the bench in the 75-57 loss to South Tama.
Perry falls to 3-18 and prepare to wrap up the regular season on Tuesday, traveling to Fort Dodge to face off against the Dodgers. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30pm.
