Panorama Head Boys Basketball Coach Josh Beardsley discusses how his upperclassmen are leading by example to the rest of the team.

The Panthers finished the regular season on a high note, beating Ogden by a final score of 58-53 to mark their overall record at 2-19. Head Coach Josh Beardsley understands that although the wins have been hard to come by, the boys have been competing in each one of their games.

Beardsley shares that he’s been really impressed with the leadership displayed from juniors Reed Draper, Cruz Crandall, Brayden Prescott, Ike Greenlee, and Jaxson Stauffer, plus seniors David Kinsey, Brayden Galvan, Bryce Dawes, and Latyn Ashworth. Beardsley comments that when Panorama passes the ball around, they are a hard team to guard.

“We’ve had numerous dudes score above 15 (points) throughout the year, so everyone is contributing at some level. And then it’s just consistently continuing to share the ball, and not get a turnover over passing it at times, and just staying engaged in the process of ‘Hey this is a team sport, we got to all contribute equally here and trust our teammates,’ that’s a big thing. Trust your teammates that they’re going to help you be successful as well.”

With the regular season behind the Panthers, the team will now prepare for the Class 2A Region 7 First Round game on Monday in Stuart, taking on the West Central Valley Wildcats.
