The Jefferson Youth Services Department is celebrating another culture tomorrow with several special activities.
Youth Services Librarian Bailey Mount says it is the Chinese Lunar New Year and it is the year of the Horse. With that theme in mind, Mount invites anyone who is a newborn to six years old to a Storytime from 5-6pm tomorrow. She says there will be books and songs with start with the letter “H,” along with crafts, snacks and social time.
Then from 5:30-7pm, Mount details there will be a movie night in the basement of the library for 7-12 year olds to watch the film from Dreamworks called, “Spirit Untamed: the Movie.” She says the plot is about the main character Lucky Prescott, who moves with her family from the city to a frontier town and she befriends a wild mustang named Spirit.
Mount encourages everyone to come from 6:30-8pm to the south side of the library with a mini-horse meet and greet, where attendees can meet a real mini-horse and ask questions about the animal. Finally, she adds that from 7-8pm is a Telescope Talk and Viewing with local telescope guy Drew Sorensen on the south lawn of the library. All activities are free.
