DCG boys basketball kicks off their final week of the 2025-2026 regular season with a non-conference matchup tonight at Ankeny.
The Mustangs have been playing their best basketball as of late, winning six of their last eight games to put their record at 12-7(7-4). Sophomore Chase Perrin leads the team in scoring with 17.8 points per game and has been on a roll in his last few contests. He had 19 points in Pella on Friday as the boys knocked off the #4 Dutch, and before that, he netted 24 of DCG’s 57 points against Pella Christian. That came after he set the single-game record for three pointers in a game with 9 against Indianola.
Perrin looks to stay hot against the #7 Ankeny Hawks. They play their basketball in the CIML, arguably the toughest conference in boys’ basketball. Ankey has scuffled lately, losing four of its last five games. The Hawks’ leading scorer is Amario Aguirre, a senior who scores at a 17.9 ppg pace and hopes to get Ankeny back to its winning ways.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 pm at the Ankeny Main Gym. You can catch the action on KDLS and raccoonvalleyradio.com.
