The AC/GC Chargers boys basketball team won their first postseason game of the year 65-46 over the CAM Cougars.

The Chargers outscored the Cougars 20-10 in the first, but were outscored 13-12 in the second to take a 32-23 halftime lead. AC/GC then outscored CAM again in the third, this time 17-11, and in the fourth quarter 16-12 to take the 65-46 victory. Seniors Tommy Skram and Blaize Dorsey led the way with 25 and 16 points respectively, while freshman Will Skram put up 11, and junior Preston Kent added nine points to the score. Junior Jonny Kading and freshman Joe Fagan each added two points as well.

The Crafty’s Coffee and Gifts Players of the Game were Tommy and Dorsey on offense, with Kading and Kent helping to lead defensively. The Dub P Apparel Elite Fit Play of the Game came in the final seconds of the first quarter. The Chargers stole the ball, and Dorsey was on his way to their basket only to have CAM player Collin Bower poke the ball out for a steal. Instead of panicking and rushing back to defend, Dorsey stole the ball back, then made his way to the lane for the left handed layup, leaving the Cougars less than six seconds to attempt to score, which they didn’t.
