Greene County opened the Class 2A District 4 tournament on Monday night in Woodward vs. Woodward-Granger on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. The host Hawks won by a 47-37 score and advances to Thursday night’s District 4 semifinal in Eldora vs. South Hardin. The game was heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.

Coach Chris Nelson’s Rams are 3-19 and they end with nine losses in a row, most of those after the loss to a season ending knee injury by senior and leading scorer Broc Stream. The Hawks improved to 14-8.

The Rams trailed 18-17 at halftime, then fell down by 10 before seven straight points by Ram senior Teagan Chisholm early in the fourth quarter cut the deficit to 35-32. The Rams were outscored 12-5 the rest of the way.

Chisholm led the Rams with 13 points while senior Nathan Towers had 10 points and eight by junior Lincoln Schwander. W-G had 13 points from senior Jack Shindelar who fouled out with 3:27 to play in the fourth quarter. Senior Vinny Sebastian added 12 points for the Hawks.

In addition to Stream, Chisholm, and Towers, Ram seniors are Isaac Karber, Rafe Michaelsen, and Carter Hinote.
