
After winning their first round basketball game on Saturday versus Logan-Magnolia, the West Central Valley Girls prepare for the second round tonight on the road in Sloan, battling Westwood.
The Wildcats are coming off a 54-31 victory over the Panthers in Stuart Saturday, where junior Addilyn Richter led the way with 22 points, followed by 11 from senior Macy Long. The Rebels received a first-round bye and are sitting at 19-1 on the season, while the Wildcats come into the contest with a 9-14 record.
For Westwood, senior Brenna Johnson is averaging over 20 points per game on 50 percent shooting from the floor and grabbing close to 10 rebounds. The one loss that the Rebels took during the regular season was on February 2nd, when they fell 85-78 to Kingsley-Pierson. This will be the first time Westwood and West Central Valley will be going up against each other.
The contest is taking place from Westwood Community School in Sloan at 7pm.
