Greene County High School will have one entry at the Iowa High School Speech Association All-State Festival this weekend.

Seniors Lucy Vander Linden, Aden Bardole and Savannah Lansman are part of Group Improv that was nominated as a non-performing entry to All-State from the state contest that was held earlier this month. Vander Linden and Lansman competed in Group Improv last year with two other people that didn’t get selected for All-State, but received straight Division I-Ratings. She remarks on making it to All-State this year is a big deal for her.

“It’s really an honor to make it here with two other seniors who I’ve worked with all this year. I think this group’s ability to just kind of  go with the flow is really, really great and helpful when it comes to improv.”

For Bardole, making it to All-State completes a family circle.

“I don’t think I’ve been to even state speech before, so it’s pretty exciting to get to All-State speech this year. I think both of my brothers got to All-State speech so being able to follow in their footsteps a little bit like that’s really cool for me.”

Since the ensemble is a non-performing entry, they will only be recognized at All-State, which is taking place in several locations on the campus of Iowa State University this Saturday.
