The Panorama Girls Basketball Team faced AC/GC for the third time this season on Tuesday in Guthrie Center for the Class 2A Region 2 bracket, knocking off the Chargers 58-49 behind senior Morgan Crees’ 24 points.
The Panthers and Chargers were all tied at 10 at the end of the first quarter. Each team would score 15 points in the second to remain even at 25-25 for the halftime break. Panorama would edge by AC/GC in the third quarter to take a 34-33 lead into the fourth. In the final frame, the Panthers would outscore the Chargers 24-16 to win their first contest versus AC/GC this season at 58-49.
Panorama was led by senior Morgan Crees, who poured in 24 points, followed by freshman Ines Gimeno-Perez with 15, and sophomore Ruth Fett contributing with 11 points. The only player in double figures for the Chargers was senior Camdyn Richter, who tallied 23 points on the night.
Panorama improves to 8-14, while AC/GC finishes the year with a record of 17-5. The win for the Panthers gives them a date with Westwood on Friday in Sloan at 7pm with an opportunity to advance to the regional championship.
