Greene County’s boys’ high school bowling team and Coach John Woodford are preparing for their first State Tournament next week. The Rams are in Class 1A and the team will bowl Monday afternoon at Cadillac Lanes in Waterloo with senior Teagan Chisholm and junior Chase Fecher bowling Tuesday morning as individuals. The Rams have had bowling just three seasons and this is the first time the team or individuals have qualified for State. Greene County won the Carroll 1A State Qualifying Meet on Monday at Starline Lanes.

The Rams the third highest State Qualifying score on Monday in 1A at 3,166 pins. Charles City at 3,215 had the top score with Maquoketa second at 3,180, followed by the Rams. Others in the field are Clarke County (Oscela), Columbus Catholic (Waterloo), Monticello, West Delaware (Manchester), and Louisa-Muscatine (Letts).
