The leader of the Panorama Girls Basketball Team discusses the maturity the squad has gone through this season.

The Panthers are currently 8-14 on the season, and secured a big victory on Tuesday in Guthrie Center, beating conference rival AC/GC 58-49 in the Class 2A Region 2 Second Round game. Panorama Head Coach Randy Miller says the confidence of the girls has grown tremendously, with the team trusting each other.

“At the beginning of the year, we lost some games that we probably should’ve won going into the fourth quarter. We had some leads and we didn’t play real well, we missed layups, (and) you could just tell that we tightened up, and I think some of that was just with our youth. So I think if we played a couple of those games now, we wouldn’t lose them because they’re playing with more confidence and they’re playing with being able to not have the nerves that they had at the beginning of the year.”

The Panthers are gearing up for the Class 2A Region 2 Semifinal Round game tomorrow, traveling to Sloan to face Westwood at 7pm.
