An impressive junior campaign comes to a close for Townes Wilson as the Bluejay wrestler wrapped up his junior season at the 2026 IHSAA Boys State Wrestling Tournament. Wilson battled in two tough matches but unfortunately fell in both matches.
Wilson began the tournament facing off against Jared Glendening of Burlington Norte Dame. The battle went all the way into the third period, with Wilson able to escape twice for two points but Glendening won the battle by tech fall, 18-2. In his final match, the scoreboard does not justify the battle as Wilson escaped twice and took multiple shots but Kooper Waugh secured three takedowns to secure a 9-2 victory ending Townes’ season.
Only a junior, Wilson looks to return next year for his senior campaign and represent the Perry Bluejays again at the state tournament.
