
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Basketball Team hosted the Class 4A Region 5 Second Round game in Adel on Saturday, defeating Winterset 56-26 to advance one step closer to the state tournament.
The Tigers got rolling early in the first quarter, storming out to a 21-5 lead. The Huskies were held scoreless in the second quarter, as ADM was able to have a 29-5 advantage at halftime. The Tigers tallied 15 more points in the third quarter for a 44-13 lead, then would cruise to a 56-26 victory over Winterset.
ADM had three players in double figures with senior Brecken Morse, who had 11 points, followed by junior Alexis Maxwell and sophomore Ella Subbert that garnered 10 points each. The Huskies’ leading score was junior Makenna Olson with 7 points, then it was junior Madelyn Nordstrom who added 6 points.
Winterset’s season comes to an end with a record of 7-16, and ADM improves to 15-7 on the year, and will travel to Carlisle on Tuesday for a date with the Wildcats for the Class 4A Regional Championship at 7pm. Raccoon Valley Radio will broadcast the contest on K107.9 KKRF.
