DCG boys basketball took care of business on their home floor for the final time in the 2025-26 campaign with a 91-43 victory over the Ottumwa Bulldogs.
The Mustangs rode out to an early lead that they would not lose. Luke Lorenzen ripped off 12 first-quarter points, one of six DCG players to score in the frame. Chase Perrin dropped in a pair of threes in the second quarter and finished with three longballs and 13 points. Lorenzen was the game’s leading scorer with 23. Head coach Joel Rankin got to empty the bench tonight, and each player who dressed for varsity checked into the game to the delight of all the Mustang fans in the stands. DCG wins on a fun night of basketball, 91-43, and earns its 13th win of the year, setting up a duel with the Dragons on Friday night in Johnston.
The boys set up the girls’ basketball squad who plays tonight at the Meadows Main Gym. Pella makes the trip in for substate semifinal action as the Dutch and the Mustangs do battle for the third time this year. DCG got them both times they played, including 11 days ago at Pella. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 pm, and you can catch the action on KDLS 99.7 FM, 1310 AM, and at raccoonvalleyradio.com
