Those looking to get outdoors this weekend can join the Dallas County Conservation Board for another volunteer day. 

Outreach Coordinator Jeni Baker says the Voas Volunteer Day will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday at Voas Nature Area, 19340 Lexington Road, in Minburn. 

She adds that after a successful volunteer back in November, the conservation board decided to add a spring volunteer day to continue clearing invasive species out of an oak savanna at Voas Nature Area.

Baker details that volunteers will use loppers and handsaws to clear honeysuckle, cedar trees and autumn olive. The event is open to all ages.

While the event is free, Baker says registration is required through the conservation board’s Eventbrite page.
