While we’re partway into 2026, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office recently shared end-of-the-year statistics from 2025.
Sheriff Adam Infante says the department responded to 21,657 incidents last year. He adds that number is an increase of 12.3% from 2024 and over 20% higher than the past two years.
“We’ve been keeping stats for a long time around here and we use these stats to staff, budget and allocate other resources wherever we need to put people or where we need to focus. Across the board, the sheriff’s office is busier and busier than it’s ever been.”
Infante details that the Dallas County Jail booked in 2,216 people in 2025, which was an increase of 4% from the previous year. The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office had the most bookings, followed by Waukee, West Des Moines, Perry and Adel Police.
Infante explains that the front office staff was also busier than ever in 2025 as they processed 965 records requests and 3,175 civil documents. He adds that the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office dispatched a first responder 48,671 times across all agencies, which was an almost 11% increase from 2024.
One area that saw a decrease was the amount of people processed through the Dallas County Courthouse. Infante says deputies used to process over 75,000 people a year at the courthouse. Now that the administration building holds most of the county offices, he adds that number decreased to 34,700 in 2025.
