The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Basketball Team participated in the Class 4A Region 5 Championship game on Tuesday in Carlisle, falling 51-22 to end their season short of the state tournament.

The Wildcats got off to a picture perfect start, not allowing the Tigers to score as Carlisle led 17-0 after the first quarter. ADM was able to tally four points in the second quarter, but another 11 from Carlisle had them in front 28-4 at the halftime break. The Tigers’ offense woke up in the second half, garnering 18 points, but the Wildcats put up 23 to coast to a 51-22 victory.

Carlisle was led by senior Macy Comito, who had 15 points on the night, followed by sophomore Kami Clark with 12, and senior Mallie Stoner, who added 11 points. ADM’s sophomore Ella Subbert was the scoring leader with five points, then it was sophomore Aubrey Noring’s four, and three points from junior Alexis Maxwell.

The Tigers season comes to an end, finishing with a record of 15-8, and the Wildcats improve to 23-1 on the year and have punched their ticket to the state tournament next week in Des Moines.
