Darling was ranked fourth of out eight individuals and first competed against fifth-ranked Aiden Elam from Davenport West, winning 259 to 204. Darling then moved to the second round where he knocked off top-ranked Taylor Lindner 238-236 from Le Mars.

In the championship round, Darling went against Slayton Schroeder from Le Mars, and came away victorious at 237-196 to be named the Class 2A Individual Champion for the second year in a row. Darling was the lone representative for the Tigers last season and ended the year with an individual title.

This year, the ADM Boys qualified their whole squad, and won second place in the team category. During the 2025-26 season, the Tigers went 9-1 overall with the only loss to the Waukee Warriors on December 8th. Darling will be one of four seniors graduating from ADM, with the others being Treyton Lee, Ty Lovejoy, and Colby Simons.
