There’s still time to sign up for a new fundraiser with the Bell Tower Festival Committee that is happening next Saturday.

Jefferson Matters Director Matt Wetrich says the event is taking place at The Courtyard Wedding and Events Center next Saturday from 5-10pm. According to the committee, the meal will be served from 5-6:30pm featuring smoked pork chops from the Greene County Pork Producers and Jefferson Hy-Vee, along with sides provided by Hy-Vee and gourmet cupcakes for dessert.

The committee states that from 7-10pm there are going to be two competitions, including trivia and a puzzle challenge. Organizers say the trivia will include teams of four going through various rounds of adopted styles of competitions, while the puzzle challenge features teams of four to put together a 500 piece puzzle, finish a large food item and consume a 48-ounce beverage. Additionally, there will be a silent auction for people to bid on as well.

Wetrich explains what the proceeds will be used for.

“I will tell you the main goal of this event is to fundraise for the carnival itself at (the) Bell Tower Festival. These carnivals, gosh, they range in price several thousands of dollars. So, the goal of this event is to be able to raise funds for that.”

Tickets for the meal portion is $20 and the team entry fee is $100 per competition. Click here to sign up.
