The AC/GC Charger boys basketball juniors were a major help in leading the team this past season.

Jonny Kading started all 15 of the games he played in, going 43 percent from the field, 15.4 percent from beyond the arch, and 51.9 percent from the charity stripe. He also led the team in rebounds with 110, breaking down to 39 offensive and 71 defensive. Kading recorded 34 assists, 24 steals, 22 blocks and 96 points. He was also given a 1.69 on the value point system (VPS), a statistic used by coaches to evaluate performance beyond scoring, and a way to measure how efficiently a player impacts the game.

Preston Kent started in 20 of the team’s 23 games, playing in all of them, going 36.6 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from behind the three point line, and 63.3 percent from the free throw line. He collected 97 rebounds, breaking down to 33 offensive and 64 defensive. Kent also tallied 41 assists, 30 steals, six blocks, and scored 166 points. He was given a 1.01 VPS.

Colt Douglas played most of his time on the junior varsity team, but was brought in during the team’s final game, helping with a rebound, and being given a 0.25 VPS.
