
The AC/GC Chargers girls basketball juniors were a major part in leading the team this past season.
Stella Largent started 21 of the team’s 22 games, going 46 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arch, and 68.8 percent from the charity stripe. She also secured a team leading 203 rebounds, breaking down to 87 offensive and 116 defensive. Largent recorded 43 assists, 38 steals, led the team in blocks with 17 and scored 250 points. She was also given a 1.30 on the value point system (VPS), a statistic used by coaches to evaluate performance beyond scoring, and a way to measure how efficiently a player impacts the game.
Meranda Gruber started in 21 of the team’s 22 games, going 38.2 percent from the field, 37.8 percent from behind the three point line, and 72.7 percent from the charity stripe. She hauled in 65 rebounds, with 20 offensive and 45 defensive. Gruber also recorded a team leading 55 assists, 29 steals, one block and 171 points. She was also given a VPS of 1.00.
Nora Langgaard played in all 22 of the team’s games, going 40 percent from the field, and 64.3 percent from the free throw line. She collected 47 rebounds, breaking down to 15 offensive and 32 defensive. Langgaard also tallied seven assists, 10 steals, three blocks, and scored 33 points. She was given a 1.52 VPS.
Olivia Mahaffey started in one of the team’s 22 games, shooting 41 percent from the field, 31.2 percent from downtown, and 62.2 percent from the charity stripe. She collected 65 rebounds, breaking down to 28 offensive and 37 defensive boards. Mahaffey dished out 12 assists, 18 steals, two blocks, and scored 119 points. She was given a 1.11 VPS.
