The Greene County Libraries Association is hosting a program next week in celebration of International Women’s Day.

GCLA President Alan Robinson says the Historic Voices will present “The Founding Mother” next Saturday at 2pm at the Grand Junction Community Center. He points out that presenter Laura Keyes will give live portrayals of remarkable women who experienced first-hand views of the founding of our country.

Keyes says that while most people will know of Martha Washington and Abigail Adams, there are so many other women that were important to how this nation was formed. Robinson says Keyes is a graduate with a master’s degree in library studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has been doing these types of performances for over 15 years.

Next Saturday’s program is free and open to the public, with GCLA and the Greene County Board of Supervisors co-sponsoring the event.
