Freshmen Hayden Splendore made waves on the wrestling mat for the Perry Bluejays varsity wrestling squad, qualifying for state in his rookie campaign.

The freshmen reflected on what he loves about the sport of wrestling.

“I like that it’s like more individual. like it’s you that determines how you’re going to do. With the team sport, you can kind of rely on your teammates, but wrestling, it’s you out there and you have to rely on yourself.”

Splendore wrapped up his rookie campaign with the Bluejays on the big stage, wrestling in the 2026 boys state wrestling meet. After a successful freshmen season, Splendore looks to return next season with a fire.
