West Central Valley Girls Basketball Head Coach Dan Druivenga expresses his gratitude towards the two seniors of the squad, Talia Williams and Macy Long.
Druivenga outlines that both Williams and Long are very versatile players who did whatever was asked of them. He shares that he made an adjustment to move Williams to the post this season, which was an area that was unfamiliar with, but handled it well. As for Long, Druivenga explains that she was positioned inside the paint, but also had the ability to stretch the floor with her shooting. He adds that no matter the obstacle, the girls were ready to adapt on the fly.
“We were not as deep as we have been in the past few years, so they probably played a little extra minutes more than normal. But that’s quite an adjustment too to make, and so I’m really proud of what they did.”
Long was second on the Wildcats in points scored with 166, and Williams followed right behind at 165. West Central Valley concluded the season at 9-15 overall, falling 54-16 to Westwood in the Class 2A Region 2 Second Round game on February 17th.
