The AC/GC Chargers boys basketball freshmen played a larger part than freshmen usually do for the team this past season.

Joe Fagan started eight of the team’s 22 games he played in, going 38.5 percent from the field, and 58.3 percent from the charity stripe. He also hauled in 76 rebounds, breaking down to 33 offensive and 43 defensive. Fagan recorded five assists, 10 steals, two blocks and 44 points. He was also given a 0.87 on the value point system (VPS), a statistic used by coaches to evaluate performance beyond scoring, and a way to measure how efficiently a player impacts the game.

Reece Emgarten started in one of the 20 games he played in, going 25.4 percent from the field, 17.6 percent from behind the three point line, and 58.3 percent from the free throw line. He collected 32 rebounds, breaking down to 10 offensive and 22 defensive. Emgarten also tallied 16 assists, 10 steals, and scored 45 points. He was given a 0.68 VPS.

Will Skram started in four of the 22 games he played in, going 35 percent from the field, 30.6 percent from beyond the arch, and three for three from the charity stripe. He collected 21 rebounds, breaking down to seven offensive and 14 defensive. Skram also tallied 16 assists, 17 steals, and scored 95 points. He was given a 0.88 VPS.

Andrew Baumert played in 17 games, going 12.5 percent from the field. He collected nine rebounds, breaking down to three offensive and six defensive. Baumert also tallied three assists, eight steals, and scored two points. He was given a 0.59 VPS.

Aaron Langgaard played in seven games, hauling in three rebounds, breaking down to two offensive and one defensive. He also tallied two assists and was given a 2.50 VPS.

Cal Clark played in 11 games, collecting three offensive and one defensive rebounds for a total of four. He also had two assists and a VPS of 0.40.
