The Greene County High School Athletics Hall of Fame weekend is moving from Winter to Fall, starting later this year. The first six years the HOF ceremonies were held in coordination with a home girl/boy basketball doubleheader in late January or early February. A release from the Activities Department to Raccoon Valley Radio explained the move was partially weather related and also to avoid busy schedules.

The seventh class of Athletic Hall of Famers will be introduced during the Greene County varsity football game in Jefferson vs. Creston on Friday, Oct. 16 with the reception and induction the night of Saturday, Oct. 17.

Nominations for the next Hall of Fame Class are being accepted now through April 15, 2026. Criteria include nominees who were first team All-State selections, State Champion individuals, State Championship teams, or college All-Americans, and high school graduates from Jefferson, Jefferson-Scranton, Greene County, East Greene, Rippey, Grand Junction, Dana, and Scranton high schools. Also eligible are Paton-Churdan graduates who met the requirements while participating in a sport with an athletic sharing agreement with Jefferson, J-S, or Greene County.
