An all female, non-profit organization recently announced its latest scholarship recipient.
According to PEO Chapter CZ, Amelia Johnson of Jefferson received a $500 scholarship for her to continue to further her education with a certification for massage therapy from Brody Wisdom in Urbandale. The organization says Johnson is a Greene County High School and Iowa State University graduate who has been working as an athletic trainer at 21st Century Rehabilitation with Greene County Medical Center for the last six years.
PEO Chapter CZ says Johnson’s goal is to open her own massage therapy business in Jefferson where she will offer orthopedic massages and eventually bring other services such as Thai, hot and cold stone, as well as sound infused massages.
PEO Chapter CZ says these scholarships are to support local women locally or those who have local connections and are continuing with their education while in the workplace. The non-profit organization raises funds for scholarships through several projects during the year.
