With the boys soccer season at Perry High School on the horizon, Perry Activities Director Tina Lutterman shared her excitement for the arrival of the new head coach for the Bluejays soccer team, Abraham Cardenas.

Cardenas, a Perry native and former athlete under former head coach Gary Overla, takes the head coach role after Overla retired at the end of last season.

“It’s been really fun connecting with coach Cardenas and learning more about his past as both a player and he’s been a volunteer coach for several years in the past. He’s just so thrilled to be able to follow coach Overla, who he was a student athlete under, and learn from him and bring all the good things he (Cardenas) knows to Perry.”

The first match for the Bluejays soccer team is less than a month away as Perry plays host to ADM on Monday, March 30th.
