Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School will be sending 20 students to the FFA District competition on Saturday.
According to ADM FFA Advisor McKenzie Gettler, they took multiple members to the Sub-Districts Leadership Development Events on February 17 in Ankeny. The students competed in Conduct of Meetings, Job Interview, Ag Broadcasting, Creed Speaking and Chapter Program.
Gettler adds that all of them were in the top two and advanced to this weekend’s district competition.
ADM Chapter President Eliza Schmidt was glad to see so many members advance to the next round.
“I think everyone put a lot of preparation in and our results really showed that, so I’m really happy for everyone.”
She competed in Job Interview and is looking forward to Saturday’s competition.
“You spend a lot of time between sub-districts and districts, tweaking your performance and really using the criticism to make your performance better. So I think it’s really fun at districts to see how that pays off and see the growth from sub-districts to districts.”
ADM FFA students will head to Southeast Warren High School in Liberty Center for districts.
