As the 2026 Track and Field season quickly approaches, Panorama junior Kylie Rochholz has her mind set on qualifying back to the state meet, following a trip last year.
Rochholz explains that she’s been involved with Track and Field since her seventh grade year and enjoys the challenge of bettering herself, as she participates in any event from the 400 meter run to the 3000 meters. She outlines that during the state meet last season, she placed sixth in the Girls 3000 meter run, posting a personal best time of under 10 minutes and 30 seconds. Rochholz highlights that she’s constantly cheering on her teammates throughout the year.
“Like if it’s during a practice, giving them fist bumps and during meets going out and actually cheering for them, even when it’s cold and not always the most convenient (time).”
Prior to the first meet, Rochholz shares that she’s focusing on getting her distance runs in, but also putting in work inside the weight room to become a stronger athlete. The first meet for Panorama will be the Iowa Association Track Coaches Indoor Championships at the Lied Recreation Athletic Center in Ames on March 13th.
