
The Stuart City Council will meet in regular session Monday night.
The Council will consider for approval adopting the Length of Service Award Program for the Stuart Fire Department, proposals for a city attorney, and cemetery committee bylaws, code of conduct and confidentiality statement. They will also consider for approval the citywide transition to a stuartia.gov email domain, a tax incremental financing application for Central Mart Travel America, and a nuisance abatement for municipal infractions at 616 North Fremont Street.
The Council will also consider for approval the annual Town Clean Up Days for April 25th and 26th, a police fleet replacement and equipment acquisition plan, along with discussing police officer recruitment. They will then discuss the Stuart Aquatic Center 2026 season with Pool Manager Chelle Young, then consider for approval a site plan for an addition to the West Central Valley High School building, and the first change order for the 2026 Street Improvements project for $35,740.
The Council will then consider for approval a proposal for an additional mower and trailer for the public works department, a Grade 1 Wastewater certification for a public works employee, and a request to place an Americans with Disabilities Act compliant ramp in the right of way at 101 Northwest 2nd Street. Other items on the agenda for approval include intersection findings and recommendations found by the police department and public works, cost sharing for the County Road P28 improvement project, possible revision for a residential tax abatement application, and lease renewal for the All Saints Cultural Center.
The Council will finish the agenda with a report on the roof warranty and replacement of the east steps at the All Saints Cultural Center, a proposal for a full time assistant rescue director, and a proposed wage increase for the City Hall Deputy Clerk. The meeting will end with reports from the mayor, city administrator/clerk, police chief, rescue director, fire chief, public works director, economic development director and library director, as well as members of the City Council.
