Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School will host band students from across the conference early next week.
Students from Carroll, Winterset, Boone, Gilbert, North Polk, Carlisle and Bondurant-Farrar will join ADM for the Raccoon River Conference Honor Band on Monday.
ADM Band Director Russ Braun says students in grades 9-12 will arrive at ADM High School in the morning and will rehearse throughout the day. He adds that the guest conductors will be Ruben Newell from Denison Community Schools and Brad Lampe from Central College.
“We haven’t hosted in a long time, but I’m pretty excited. The conductors we have coming in are great and it’s a highlight of the spring because it’s fun to get students from other schools all together. I’m always just amazed and impressed at all of the great programs that we have in Central Iowa and so it’s neat to see them have a chance to play extra music that’s challenging and fun and have the opportunity to have another director in front of them.”
Braun details that the day will wrap up with a performance at 6 p.m. in the auditorium. The concert is open to the public and parents should enter through the high school doors.
Admission is $8 and can be purchased through Bound or by cash at the door.
