Greene County FFA is set to attend the district convention tomorrow.

Advisor Steve Kehoe says 15 students are slated to take the greenhand quiz, while 20 students are gearing up for the chapter quiz. Another student, President Austyn Smith, will be competing in Public Speaking, as she earned a gold award from sub-districts that qualified her for districts. She talks about the subject of her speech, which is about diversity in farming.

“What I wanted to do was I wanted to talk about the profit farmers can make and the losses that they can also have from different industries. And then I also talked about how they can use one resource for another resource and how they can be more economically efficient.”

Kehoe points out that FFA members Dakota Ostrander and Kinley Dzuris are going to be the chapter’s voting delegates at districts. He adds that Smith will also be recognized with Academic Achievement by the FFA Association. Greene County FFA will be traveling to Denison High School for the district convention.
