The Mary J Barnett Memorial Library is holding a fun contest later this month.

Library Director Jerri Hawkins mentions that they will be conducting a Peep Diorama Contest, and displaying the dioramas at the library for patrons to vote on. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio more about the competition.

“You put together a team and you provide a shoe box and you bring in any additional materials and your peeps and you just design and construct a diorama featuring peep marshmallow characters. And then we plan to have those displayed in the library for a contest and there will be prizes up for grabs for the winners.”

Hawkins mentions that the teams will be able to build their dioramas on March 21st at the library from 10am to 1pm, but that for those who want to participate but can’t make it, those teams can bring their diorama in by the time the library closes on March 20th. She adds that all the dioramas will then be displayed from March 23rd to April 3rd, with the winner selected April 1st, and that the dioramas can be picked up by those that created them from April 4th to April 11th.
