The Paton Fire Department fundraiser is happening tonight.
According to the department, their event will take place at the Paton Fire Station with a smoked pork chop dinner that is going to be grilled by the Greene County Pork Producers and served at 5pm, followed by casino-style games. Fire Chief Jonathan Marshall says there is also going to be three raffles this evening, including a $1,500 gift card to Summerfelt Outfitters and two cash prizes of $1,000 and $500.
Marshall points out that last year they raised over $7,000 and 200 people attended their fundraiser. He states that the proceeds were used last year to replace some of the expiring air tanks, hoses, chainsaws and bunker gear for the firefighters. Marshall explains that this year, the proceeds are being mainly targeted for fire truck maintenance.
Tickets for the meal are $20 each and the raffle tickets are $15. Limited tickets are available at the door.
