There are two more chances to see this year’s spring musical at Greene County High School.
Director David Heupel says “Anastasia” is about Anya who has amnesia and two conmen are trying to convince her that she is the princess Anastasia, and then mishaps happen along the way. Senior Lucy Vander Linden plays the character Anya and Heupel talks about her progression from where she started as a freshman to where she is now playing a main role.
“Well, she’s a bit of a chameleon. I think she can do whatever we throw at her. This is her fourth musical and fourth role, but this is only the second one where she gets to play a female. Because she was Uncle Fester (in Addams Family), and Flounder (Little Mermaid), she’s Little Red Riding Hood (Into the Woods), and now she’s Anya. She’s stepping into that really well and she’s done a lot of prep work. I think she hosted a little watch party at her house early on, had some friends over, and they watched the musical together. She was excited about it right away and that helped her really jump in.”
Tonight’s performance is at 7pm and tomorrow is a matinee at 2pm at the high school auditorium. Tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for students and those can be purchased online by clicking here or at the door.
